Where should the thermometer be in relation to the heater in a 25 gallon tank?

Hi! I have a 25 gallon aquarium with a heater. I was wondering where is the best best spot to place the thermometer? Currently, the heater is at one end of the tank along the back wall (as that is the only place it will fit with the hood) and the thermometer is at the same end, but on the front wall. Am I just measuring the temperature at that end of the tank, and the other end could be cooler, or is the heat probably the same throughout? Thanks!

the temp will remain the same throughout your tank any where you place the thermometer is good pick a spot where its easy to read

i think it will be better that you put your temp in the as far as you can . it will shown the best result . because water need to turn in the tank to take the temperature

A lot will depend on how much water flow you have in your tank. Where you have it is most likely fine, but if you are curious, move the thermometer to the far side of the tank and let it sit there for a while to equilibrate and take a reading. It should read the same as where it is now.

I personally like to put my thermometer on the opposite side of the tank. You know what temp the water is by your heater – whatever you set it at – so by puting the thermometer on the other side you see if the water is circulating well enough to make the temp the same on the other side

    diagonally opposite

The best place to put the thermometer is at the side farthest from the heater. This ensures that the tank is circulating well and heating throughout. I recommend buying the Encyclopedia of Aquarium and Pond Fish, it is quite inexpensive but very thorough! That is where I got this information.

On the other side of the tank as far away as possible to get accurate readings.

    Good luck
